Chairman Finance Committee Municipal corporation Quetta for four years, Chairman Zakat Distt: Quetta for three years, chief organisor Social Welfare Project for fifteen years, Member Governor''s Body Quetta Development authority for four years, and is the president of PPPP Quetta City.Member Provincial assembly of the Balochistan in General Elections 2002 first time.
Again he elected General Elections 2008 and become a member of Balochistan Provincila assembly and became Education Minister of Balochistan. Balochistan Minister for Education and leader of PPP Shafiq Ahmed Khan was killed on 25, Oct 2009 as unknown armed men opened fire on him outside his house in Quetta, the the capital of Balochistan.
